“We are truly excited to welcome Minerva to our Board of Directors. Her storied background as both a tech innovator and as a pioneering spirit across tech start-ups, large enterprises and government provide the characteristics and experience that align with Vital Vio’s next level of continued scaling of our product deployments and market offerings” said Colleen Costello, Vital Vio’s co-founder and CEO. “We know Minerva will be an enormous asset in our company’s mission to help make the world a cleaner and healthier place for us all. Her knowledge and insight are welcomed additions as we navigate the many applications of our antimicrobial light technology in practically every interior space, both in places where people live, work and gather, as well as inside the products of the future.”

With more than 30 years in enterprise technology, startup founder, and pioneer in mobile, AI, and data strategy, Ms. Tantoco served in executive technology and product management roles at Palm, Merrill Lynch and UBS, and holds four US patents on intelligent workflow. Appointed in 2014, Ms. Tantoco served as New York City’s first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO) where she directed the Mayor’s Office of Technology and Innovation. As CTO, Ms. Tantoco launched groundbreaking initiatives in smart city policy and government tech, such as LinkNYC, CSforAll, and IoT Guidelines for New York City. “I see Vital Vio’s work as critical to promoting health and wellness by providing continuous antimicrobial light for surfaces in spaces we all occupy. I’ve known Colleen Costello for the past few years, and the company’s antimicrobial lights are breaking new ground in combatting the growth of bacteria on surfaces, especially now as the need for new tools for germ control goes beyond operating rooms to homes, workplaces and public spaces.”

In 2016, New York City was named Best Smart City at the Global Smart City Awards. Ms. Tantoco was named Distinguished Fellow, Barnard College, Athena Center for Leadership Studies.
