New Partnerships with MJM Marine, Middleby Corporation, LightPartner and Delta Contract, Bring a New Class of Continuous Use UV-free Antimicrobial Lighting to the Cruise and Maritime Industries

LATHAM, NY – June 10, 2021– Vyv, Inc., the pioneer and leading provider of continuous use, UV-free antimicrobial LED technology, today announced four new partnerships to aid in the return to the seas for the cruise and maritime industries. Vyv has forged agreements with MJM Group; LightPartner Lichtsysteme GmbH & Co. KG; Middleby Corporation; and Delta Contract S.p.A. to bring Vyv antimicrobial LED lighting throughout the maritime industry – from galleys, lounges, commissaries and food service areas to elevators, general gathering places, office spaces, and other high-traffic/high touch areas aboard ships.

As cruise lines make way for an early summer healthy return to the seas from U.S. ports, updated CDC guidance recommends enhanced approaches to multi-layered defense systems around germ control. Pre-pandemic, dosing surfaces with Vyv’s continuous use White Antimicrobial Light was recognized by the maritime industry as an easy-to-implement, high impact solution to cleaning all surfaces exposed to this light, Vyv lighting meets international standards for continual and unrestricted use around people. With the recent news that Vyv also kills* viruses, in addition to bacteria, fungi and mold, Vyv has formed new partnerships that are well positioned to address the increased demand for antimicrobial lighting on these vessels.

LightPartner, Middleby, MJM Marine and Delta Contract, known and trusted leaders in this sector, bring deep expertise on beautiful and functional maritime lighting, bespoke services and ship renovations. Coupled with Vyv’s proven antimicrobial technology an extensive portfolio of maritime lighting will provide the ship’s crew, staff and their guests greater safety, security and comfort in the cleanliness of their environment while aboard the ship.

“As the cruise industry begins its comeback in the wake of the pandemic, there is an extraordinary focus on the safety and comfort for guests and crew alike,” said Kristin May, chief commercial operations officer, Vyv. “Creating the cleanest possible environment onboard, particularly in high traffic/high touch areas, takes on new meaning and importance.  Doing that in a sustainable way, meaning continuously creating an inhospitable environment for microbes to grow and survive, while incorporating new green technologies is essential. Retrofitting these vessels with antimicrobial lighting that is easily installed, requires virtually no maintenance, and cleans surfaces continually 24/7, is a perfect solution for bringing back confidence from the cruising public and the people who serve them.”

LightPartner (Germany), a leading provider of marine lighting technology from advanced lighting solutions for luxury liners and cruise ships to standard luminaires from merchant ships, will integrate Vyv Antimicrobial Light into maritime lighting fixtures and will fulfill the unique requirements for light fixtures installed aboard ships.

“Pandemics are the challenges of the future. Instead of looking for a universal remedy, we need to develop a combination of measures to ensure the best possible protection for everyone on board. At LightPartner, we are glad to contribute with our luminaires powered by Vyv technology,” said Doris Haas, Managing Director and Owner.

MJM Marine (Northern Ireland), a leading international specialist in cruise ship refurbishment, refit and interior fit out services since 1983, offers full bespoke and turnkey solutions across a broad range of needs: accommodation, recreation and public areas, catering, residential and many more.

“Over this Covid 19 hiatus MJM Marine has looked to technology and innovation to enhance our offerings to our long-established client base in the maritime industry. We believe the maritime industry will embrace Vyv Technology and UV- free antimicrobial lighting and we envisage a strong foothold for this technology in the maritime environment,” said Gary Annett, CEO, MJM Marine.”

Delta Contract (Italy) offers a fully integrated platform to design, manufacture and install lighting systems. After many years of success Delta expanded into antimicrobial lighting in partnership with Vyv to supply all the areas aboard of the ships, with particular focus in food areas, public areas and cabins, with their specific focus on new ship builds and dry dock projects,

Middleby Corporation is a leading supplier of marine-grade cooking technologies for cruise lines and the United States Navy. Recognized by USPH, all Middleby marine equipment is designed to withstand even the roughest sea conditions.

“Middleby is proud to be a trusted partner to the cruise line industry. Our equipment offers labor savings and precision cooking technologies to meet the exacting standards for ships around the world. Our partnership with Vyv allows us to continue our commitment to the maritime industry.  Incorporating Vyv antimicrobial lighting into the solutions we provide onboard will facilitate a safer dining experience.”
