Gerry O’Connor

Financial executive with broad experience in strategy development and execution, M&A, business start-ups, joint ventures, international manufacturing, interim CFO consulting, and global commodities trading, Expertise in leading the development of financial, and operational plans; creating buy-in, and leading implementation, with resulting increased shareholder value. Served on corporate Boards of Directors and recognized for a collaborative approach. He co-founded Brentwood Advisory Group in 2013 and has led the expansion of this interim C-Suite consulting company. Prior to Brentwood, he proposed a 5-point strategic direction matrix for an S&P 500 company, and analyzed various alternatives, resulting in the successful $3 billion sale of the firm earning a 30% premium for shareholders. He oversaw a project selling the firm, with a scope of work including marketing, deal negotiations and integration planning with purchaser. Earlier he designed and led the implementation of a continuous business improvement project, reducing annualized operating costs by $25MM or 12% and improving working capital by $40MM through a reduction in Receivables (DSO). Earlier in his career he was engaged in three start-ups, co-creating growth plans, developing operational tactics, hiring key employees, and establishing corporate cultures focused on success. His professional profile includes a strong strategic vision, financial acumen, creating alignment around agreed direction and a results-oriented operational focus. His M&A experience includes many buy-side and sell-side transactions. He has proposed, identified, negotiated, and concluded several billion dollars of transactions. Post-transaction, he has led many integration activities. He is recognized for leading successful corporate restructurings, creating alignment around tactics to achieve strategic direction, and driving bottom-line growth. He is goal oriented. His global experience includes CFO roles in Europe and providing leadership in establishing manufacturing operations in Central America and East Asia. He is collaborative, empathetic, supportive, and a team builder. His board of director experience includes several domestic and international businesses, ranging from early stage ventures up to a $500 MM business focused on retail energy services markets. Gerry is a Chartered Certified Accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from University College, in Dublin, Ireland and a master’s degree in business administration from Utah State University.
